What sets it apart

๐Ÿ–Œ๏ธ

Unified Canvas

Paint, inpaint, and extend images on one infinite canvas instead of juggling separate tabs.

๐Ÿงฉ

Node-based workflows

Build custom generation pipelines visually, similar in spirit to ComfyUI but with a friendlier default UI.

๐Ÿ—‚๏ธ

Model manager built in

Browse, install, and organize checkpoints, LoRAs, and ControlNets from inside the app.

๐Ÿข

Also powers commercial tools

The same engine underlies several paid products โ€” the open-source core stays free to self-host.

How to install it

  1. Download the installer zip

The button above opens the real releases page โ€” grab the .zip built for Windows.

  2. Unzip and run install.bat

Double-click install.bat inside the extracted folder to start the automatic installer.

  3. Choose an install location and GPU type

Pick a drive with at least 15 GB free โ€” more if you plan to add several models later.

  4. Pick starter models when prompted

The configurator offers a set of ready-to-use checkpoints so you can generate immediately.

  5. Launch with invoke.bat

Found in your chosen install folder; open http://localhost:9090 once it starts.

System requirements

GPUNVIDIA recommended (xformers support); AMD on Linux, Apple Silicon on Mac also supported
RAM16 GB recommended
Disk15 GB minimum for install; more per additional model
CPU-onlySupported but noticeably slow for image generation
Good to know: This is an independent overview, not affiliated with Invoke AI Inc. The link above goes to the real official repository โ€” this page never hosts the installer itself. Invoke's core engine is open source; the company also sells hosted/paid versions with extra features, which this guide doesn't cover.
